DEPORTE PARA LA EDUCACIÓN Y LA SALUD (DES) –Sport for Education and Health. Madrid – Spain
Sport for Education and Health is a Spanish NGO working at an international level on the promotion of sport as a tool for values education and promotion of healthy lifestyles among students, families and staff of schools.

Objectives of DES:
1) To promote and strengthen SPORT as a vehicle for education and health.
2) To promote the training and transfer of good practices among sports education professionals and schools. Organize activities of retraining, professional development and other training activities demanded by teachers, schools and professionals of physical education.
3) To facilitate the access to other services and basic products of interest of professionals of the education and the sport related to the professional activity.
4) Support sports education professionals in projects aligned with the values ​​of our Association, promoting solidarity, development, peace and global citizenship.

Key activities:
1) Recognition of Sport and Health Committed Schools: For educational institutions that want to grow in their commitment to sport as a vehicle for education and promoting health habits. We offer a training program and recognition by passing a verification process.
2) Sport and Health Events for schools: Each school year we organize and promote several activities to promote sport for all. Since 2014 we estimate that more than 700,000 Spanish students are more active thanks to the programs and activities carried out by DES.
3) Committed to Sport and Health Schools. Since 2014, we have been providing technical training for the transformation of educational centres that want to lead an educative and healthy sport. This programme, created entirely by DES, is in line with the 2018-2030 Strategy of the World Health Organization (WHO) and inspired by the Health Promotion Strategy of the Spanish Ministry of Health and the requirements of UNESCO, the European Commission (HEPA) and the International Olympic Committee (Sport and active society).
