More than 2883 people are involved in running our organisation (among them administrative staff: 1160, academic staff: 1723, foreigners working on agreement: 7). The aim of the university with its 55 thousand students (among them 652 are foreign students from 48 countries - 2016) is to support student exchange programmes and thus to be able to provide the opportunity of having two diplomas.
Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBU) benefits the multicultural heritage of the city of Manisa, the history of which dates back to 1450-1200s BC. MCBU is among the leading universities in the Aegean Region in terms of number of students.
Our institution is striving to meet the highest standards in all areas of education and research taking into account the increasing globalisation and the educational expectations of modern society. Taking internationalisation for our natural mission, we provide a wide range of international Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, subject-related foreign language courses and elective subjects dealing with international and intercultural topics. Furthermore, the Manisa Celal Bayar University supports world educational programmes, promotes mobility, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue. The university is involved in the Bologna process and develops the European format of higher education.
With its academic departments, lecturers, physical capacity and with its cultural and sports opportunities, Manisa Celal Bayar University is an academic institution of high quality. There are 14 faculties, 3 collages, 15 vocational schools, 3 graduate schools, 28 research and application centers and a hospital.
Faculty of Sports possesses nationally and internationally recognized instructors with credits from Sports Federations as directors, coaches, athletes and referees. In addition to our instructors, the school also possesses many students who participate in national teams of various sports.
The school is built as a complete sports campus including an Athletics Field, a Gymnastics Hall, Swimming Pools, Football Courts of various sizes, a Drama Hall, a Dancing Hall, a Massage Therapy Hall, Tennis Courts, Multiple purpose Gyms, a Martial Arts Hall, a Climbing Wall, a Fitness Gym, a Dining hall, dormitories and social facilities.
The School offers various programs that support academic and personal development:
· Double Major Program: Accepted by being published in the Official Gazette on April 24, 2010 and by Law no: 27561, The Double Major Program has 56 students and 13 graduates.
· Erasmus Program: The Celal Bayar University School of Physical Education and Sports joined the Erasmus Program with agreements of schools in Romania and Portugal. In addition, Lithuanian Kaunas University, Lithuanian Klepedia University and Romanian Bucharest Sports University were included to the program which allowed the exchange of students, faculty and personnel.
