Istanbul ICYEV (International Sports, Cultural Exchange, Youth Exchange & Training & Volunteer)
Is a non-governmental organization (NGO), and a non-profit organization (NPO).
As a non-profit organization, it is not our goal to make money from our work. Voluntary,
unpaid members who have previously been on an exchange or have been part of the İstanbul
İCYEV in other ways carry out a large part of the work.

OUR MISSION

International Cultural Youth Exchange, Youth Training & Volunteer (İCYEV) works to promote
peace, understanding and co-operation between the young people of the world, in a spirit of respect
for human rights. Therefore, our vision is to create an understanding of human values across
cultures. We work to break down cultural barriers between people and thus help create peace in the
world. At İstanbul İCYEV, we believe that exchange is one way to do this. Therefore, our mission is
to enable exchange between young from Turkey and other cultures, and foreign youth and the
Turkish culture. We are responsible for creating the contact between the volunteers from Turkey and
the foreign projects where the volunteers work voluntarily. At the same time, we arrange the
conditions for the foreign volunteers on the Turkish projects.

OUR AIMS

 To realize youth activities that foster closer co-operation and better understanding among the
young people of the world, both between and within continents, particularly by encouraging the
exchange of information, ideas and opinions;
 To promote intercultural understanding, equality of opportunity, tolerance and peace among people
in the world
 To promote their social and personal development through international volunteer programs
 To promote co-operation and mutual aid in the developed and the developing countries for cultural,
educational and social purposes;
 To work towards resolving conflicts and promotion of peaceful societies through recognition and
respect for others.
 To improve the relationships and promote tolerance among young people of different cultural or
political realities;
 To work together on issues related to protection of the environment and sustainability.
 To support and promote the health and well-being of young people in order to improve quality of
life.
 To encourage the active involvement of all young people in society without distinction because of
race, social status, educational levels or any other disadvantage.

OUR METHOD

ICYEV uses non-formal education methods to increase tolerance and awareness between young
people from different countries, cultures and traditions. Using a Global Education dimension and
Intercultural Learning activities, we promote a greater level of comprehension and active citizenship
through the development of quality youth exchanges, seminars, conventions, meetings, study visits,
training courses, and the production of Non Formal education resources.
